Adult Classes & Leagues

The Prosper Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of Adult classes to improve physical health, facilitate learning new skills, and engage the community in  recreational activities. Choose from the options below!  

Men's Softball League

Prosper Men's Softball is a friendly, fun, recreational league with an 8-game season and playoffs. Games are played on Sundays at Frontier Park. First game is June 11. Maximum number of teams for league is 13. 

Cost:  $350 per team, due with team registration application

Age: 18+

Location:  Frontier Park Complex, 1551 Frontier Pkwy. Prosper, TX

P-Town Throwdown Pickleball Tournament

Join us Saturday June 3 for a fun-filled, family oriented day of pickleball!  The second annual P-Town Throwdown Pickleball Tournament will be hosted on the Reynolds Middle School Tennis Courts, with prizes awarded for 1st and 2nd places, per division. The tournament is Co-ed Doubles team format. Divisions will be separated into Recreational and Competitive, based on player ratings. 

Prior to the tournament, from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday May 30, we’ll be talking pickleball at The Gin, 204 W. Broadway, in Downtown Prosper! Join Parks & Recreation for a Social with snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments and learn how we’re meeting the demand for pickleball in Prosper.

Cost:  $45 per team (team registration only)

Age: 18+

Yoga 

Join our Yoga group to learn to go with the flow and breathe to build strength and confidence, on and off the mat! Certified Instructor Stephanie Kimball combines creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration into every class. You'll leave feeling refreshed, nourished, and balanced.

Dates/days: Wednesdays, 8 - 9 a.m.   

June: 4 classes, $48 for the month or $15 drop in

July: 4 classes, $48 for the month or $15 drop in

August:  5 classes, $60 for the month or $15 drop in

Cost: $12 per class when registering for the month;  $15 to drop-in to one class  

Age: 18+

Chair Yoga

For those with limited mobility, vertigo, or sedentary lifestyle, Chair Yoga provides the same benefits as a mat class without the difficulty of getting on the floor.  The Certified Instructor Stephanie Kimball adapt postures which make the class accessible to everyone. A chair practice incorporates all of the tools of a regular yoga class, such as deep breathing, postures and relaxation. 

Try Chair Yoga to:

• Better and deepen your breathing
• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve strength
• Increase flexibility and range of motion
• Improve circulation and blood pressure

May:  Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

June:  Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - $48 for the month or $15 drop in

Adult Tennis 

Appropriate for beginner to intermediate players, great for new players wanting to learn the sport of a lifetime ands also for players returning to the game. Class meets Monday evenings all summer.

Dates:  Mondays June 5 - August 7,  7:45 p.m. - 8:45 p.m. 

Cost:  $179

Age: 16+

Patriotic Wreath Making Class

During this class you will make a deco mesh wreath base by learning a technique that can be used for any holiday or theme. You will then customize your wreath and make it your own by choosing from a variety of wired ribbons and adornments. Add a patriotic sign and your beautiful creation is ready to take home. All supplies included! 

Date:  Wednesday June 14, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 

Cost: $55 (includes supplies)
