4. Parks & Recreation is looking to identify and recognize the best holiday displays in Prosper. We're excited you want in the game! Light the Night! is the Town's annual holiday decorating contest for homes and businesses. The contest is open to all residents and business owners located in the Town of Prosper. Judging is based solely on exterior curb appeal, so jazz up your place accordingly and let's have some fun! 

   First place winners in each of the six categories (below) will be recognized on social media and  also earn a yard sign and gift card!

    • Contest closes Dec. 10. 
    • Judging will take place on Dec. 13.
    • Winners will be announced on Dec.15.
    • Displays may be entered only in one category. Please make your selection from the options below.
27. 2023 Light the Night! Contest Categories

    Entries will be judged in ONE category. Please select the category below that best describes your display. The category you select will be used as a guide only. Judges reserve the right to eliminate or add categories based on the entries received.

    PLEASE CHOOSE ONE:

    1. Use of Animation: Best use of lights and music (bring your Winter Wonderland to life!).
    2. The Inflatables: Best use of holiday characters (Frosty, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, Buddy the Elf, etc.).
    3. Deck the Halls: Best traditional display.
    4. Clark Griswold: Because you can never have too many lights! Sez Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation.
    5. Outdoor Christmas Tree: Best outdoor tree decorated for Christmas (any type tree!)
    6. Best Commercial/Business Display: Use your imagination!
