Parks and Recreation will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at Hays Park on Thursday, March 24, at 10:00 am. to mark the park’s official opening. The community is invited! Hays Park is located at 9008 Prestonview Drive.
Nestled within one of Prosper’s founding neighborhoods, the park is named in honor of Chester G. Hays, the fourth Mayor of Prosper. The informal gathering will feature remarks by Mayor Ray Smith, the Hays family, and additional Town dignitaries.
The family-focused park setting includes a playground, pavilion, benches and a wildflower garden. Termed a pocket park because of its proximity to a specific neighborhood and lack of a large parking lot, it is among the parks typically accessed by residents on foot.
The ceremony will take place under the pavilion. As parking is limited at the park, carpooling is encouraged, if possible.
