The Town of Prosper, Prosper Chamber of Commerce, Prosper Rotary Club, and Atmos Energy are joining together to support Prosper nonprofit organizations that serve individuals who may be financially impacted by COVID-19. This public health emergency has resulted in declarations of disaster at the federal, state, and local level, causing many to be laid off or furloughed, and for some businesses to cease operations for what is, hopefully, a temporary period of time.
Local nonprofit organizations in Prosper are already seeing an increased demand for food assistance, rent, and utility assistance due to COVID-19. With disaster declarations extended through at least April 30, and unemployment numbers growing each week, it is likely that more Prosper families will find it difficult to meet their basic needs over the coming weeks and months. Some nonprofits are already struggling to meet existing needs since several major fundraising opportunities have been canceled due to social distancing requirements.
The Town is proposing a charitable giving campaign entitled “We Prosper Together” to rally community support for Prosper nonprofits that provide food, shelter, and basic necessities to Prosper residents in response to COVID-19. The Town of Prosper, Prosper Chamber of Commerce, Prosper Rotary Club, and Atmos Energy have joined together by each pledging their support to one or more of the following nonprofit organizations:
- Cornerstone North Central Texas
- Lovepacs Prosper
- Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors (NNN)
- Prosper Ladies Association (PLA) Summer Lunch Program
We Prosper Together is a call to action for individuals and our community and corporate partners to support these organizations through direct donations. Please consider making a donation by clicking on one of the links above. Together, we have set a goal to raise $100,000 for our community by helping our local nonprofits do what they do best. Let’s continue to Prosper together!
