The Mission of the Town of Prosper Municipal Court is the commitment to professionally serve the public by administering justice in a fair, efficient and respectful manner, so as to enhance public trust and community confidence in our municipal court system. The court strives for efficient, accurate and compliant reporting of information. We provide professional, courteous and effective communication to all our customers which we believe is paramount to our success and efforts to provide quality customer service.
The Municipal Court handles Class C misdemeanor criminal cases including traffic violations, for which the maximum fine, upon conviction, does not exceed $500 (amount does not include state court costs), and no jail sentence is assessed. The court also handles cases involving violation of city ordinances, which may have fines up to $2,000 for certain offenses (amount does not include state court costs).

The Town of Prosper Municipal Court is located at 110 W. Broadway in downtown Prosper.
The Court hours of operation are:
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday
7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Thursday (extended hours)
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday
Court sessions are held the First, Second, Third and Fourth Thursday of each month at 9:30 AM in the courtroom located at 108 W. Broadway St.
If you have an active warrant and are not able to pay or post bond, you may come to see the Judge to discuss possible payment options during a walk-in docket held on the 2nd or 4th Thursday of the Month at 11:00 a.m. Please contact the court at 972-347-3020 if you have questions.

Honorable David Moore
Judge David Moore has served 13 terms as a Municipal Court Judge and Magistrate in Collin and Denton counties. Moore has been a presiding judge for 26 years. He is currently the presiding judge of Prosper, Melissa, Oak Point, Lowry Crossing, Hackberry, New Hope and St. Paul. Judge Moore maintains a strong work ethic and common sense approach to work and life.
He is a member of the Texas Municipal Courts Association and a graduate of the University of Texas. He is also a local businessman and has been a Certified Financial Planner for over 25 years.
