Discover Downtown Series Continues with Fun in the Sun Family Event on July 16 at Prosper Town Hall from 3-6 p.m.

As the weather heats up, so does the Discover Downtown Series! The next event rolling into Downtown Prosper is Fun in the Sun on Saturday, July 16, from 3-6 p.m. at Prosper Town Hall, 250 W. First Street. The family event features water slides, inflatables, games, kid-centered entertainment and cool summer treats! Remember your water-safe shoes and sunscreen and plan to head to Prosper Town Hall to celebrate summer!  Presented by Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Prosper Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), Discover Downtown Series events are free of charge and provide an opportunity for the community to experience the increasing energy in Downtown Prosper.

“The Town is excited to offer family-friendly fun in the Downtown District with some fun, cool, summer activities.  Come on out and join us for some fun in the sun!” said Dan Baker, Director of Parks and Recreation.

Mary Ann Moon, Executive Director of the PEDC added, “We love our kids! This event is yet another terrific effort by Prosper’s Parks and Rec team to provide enjoyable opportunities for our families.  Make plans to spend time in our growing Downtown.”

All Fun in the Sun activities will take place on the grounds of Town Hall. Parking will be available on site until full, with additional parking available along Main Street.

Upcoming Discover Downtown Events:

  • July 16 – Fun in the Sun: Hosted especially for kids, the event will feature inflatables, water fun and summer treats
  • August 13 – Moonlight Movie: Lawn games, popcorn, shaved ice and the family movie, Encanto
  • September 10 – Paws on Broadway: A day of fun for families and their furry canine companions

The Discover Downtown Series is a part of the events and programs conducted by Prosper Parks and Recreation throughout the year to promote family and neighbor interaction. Annual activities include the Mayor’s Fitness Challenge, Prosper Tree Tour, Celebrate Prosper, Champion Tree Contest, Prosper Arbor Day Celebration, Prosper Christmas Festival and Light the Night! Year-round recreational camps are offered for Youth, Adults and Active Adults and include an array of classes and summer camps and Men’s Softball League.
