New Discover Downtown Event Series Kicks Off with Boots on Broadway June 11 Featuring Country Music Legend Gary P. Nunn

June 2, 2022

Four events are coming to the heart of Prosper in 2022! Prosper Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Prosper Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), will conduct a new Discover Downtown event series to highlight the revitalization and growth of the Downtown Prosper area. All events are free of charge and residents are encouraged to come Downtown early to get to know their hometown businesses and merchants. A unique mix of retailers and restaurants are located on Broadway Street and the surrounding areas. For details about all events in the Discover Downtown Series, please visit discoverdowntownprosper.org.

“We are excited to showcase Downtown Prosper with the Boots on Broadway event on June 11,” said Dan Baker, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We’ve booked entertainers Gary Kyle and country music legend Gary P. Nunn. Gates open at 5 p.m. with music starting at 6 p.m. We encourage everyone to come out early and visit the downtown businesses,” he added.

Mary Ann Moon, Executive Director of the PEDC remarked, “Who better to kick off our “Discover Downtown” series and celebrate our roots than Texas’ own, Gary P.  Nunn?!  The Prosper Economic Development Corporation and Prosper’s Parks and Recreation team are excited to partner on this event and others. We appreciate the support of the Town Council as we work collectively to bring residents and visitors to our growing Downtown.  We’ll see you and your favorite armadillos June 11!”

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring chairs to enjoy the music. Alcohol will be available for purchase. The area will be fenced per TABC regulations. The event is a designated TABC Licensed Location, which means there are a few things to know before you go:  Coolers will not be allowed; neither alcohol nor food may be brought into or taken out of the event area; items brought into the event are subject to search. A complete list of allowed and prohibited items can be found at discoverdowntownprosper.org.

Parking will be available at Prosper Town Hall, 250 W. First Street. During the event, Broadway Street will be closed between S. Crockett Street and S. Coleman Street.
