Town of Prosper and PISD Partner for Special 20th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony at Children’s Health Stadium Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.

PROSPER (September 8, 2021) The Town of Prosper, in partnership with Prosper Independent School District, will hold a special 20th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony at Children’s Health Stadium on Saturday, September 11 at 9 a.m.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony which will include remarks from Prosper Fire Rescue’s Chief Blasingame, Assistant Police Chief Scott Brewer and PISD Superintendent Dr. Holly Ferguson. Additional public safety members from Prosper ISD Police, Prosper Police Department, Prosper Fire Department and military veterans will also participate in the ceremony including an invocation by Pastor Mike Martin, the National Anthem by Communications Dispatcher Jackie Tyson, America the Beautiful by PISD Choir, Pledge of Allegiance by Asst. Fire Chief Eft, “Tolling of the Bells” by Prosper Fire Rescue Honor Guard, Taps by Roy Perrin and PISD Brand trumpet players, closing prayer by Pastor Herring and a bagpiper who will perform Amazing Grace.

The annual 9/11 Carter BloodCare Blood Drive will also be on-site in conjunction both before and after the ceremony. The Carter BloodCare bus will be at Prosper Town Hall (200 S. Main St.) on Friday, September 10 accepting donations from 7:30 a.m. until 5:35 p.m. and on Saturday, September 11 at Children’s Health Stadium (2000 Stadium Dr.) from 7:30 a.m. until 5:35 p.m. Those who wish to donate blood are required to schedule an appointment prior to arrival.
